Yes, it's been quite some time since we posted a new blog post, but we have a good reason...we've been spending the last two-and-a-half years planning new things, making some changes and upgrading our image. Read all about it in our newsletters or Facebook posts.
The biggest news is...are you ready?...our 23RD ANNIVERSARY ! ! !
That's right, we are celebrating 23 years in business, a long road indeed! So much has changed since January 31, 1995, here are some highlights:
- We began with researching our goals as a company, began with being awarded a franchise in a Nashville, TN-based company, International Video Yearbooks; they produce a 45-minute VHS tape of high school highlights, covering the entire school year. We did a lot of planning and goal-setting, set out to see what services besides this we could offer...it turns out, many more than we realized.
- Our first project was for Carman-Ainsworth Middle School, an orientation video for the incoming 7th graders...a good start, it set us on our way. Watch it on our YouTube channel.
- We filmed home games for the CoHL/UHL/IHL Flint Generals for 15 seasons, saw many great games, including two championships!
- We also filmed games for other local teams, including the IFL Flint Flames, MFL/OVFL Flint Falcons, NAFL/USFA Michigan Admirals, and WBCBL/WABA/GBA Flint Monarchs...all great teams, was a pleasure.
- We've been keeping up with the latest trends, went from S-VHS to MiniDV, and are now using smartphone video...4K may be next...
Here's to 23 years and many more...thanks to all who have helped us since the beginning, for without your help, J-NIC Video Productions would not be possible.
HAPPY 23rd ANNIVERSARY ! ! !
Greetings all! We haven't announced anything since the last post, as we've been busy with a new client, the Flint FIrebirds of the OHL...it's been a hectic 10 months, a lot going on, see how: http://flintfirebirds.com. We would like to announce a new staff member, Robert Stamps; he worked with us on the Firebirds crew and is now part of J-NIC Video Productions. Stay tuned for more details!
Greetings J-NIC Video Staff Members!
Happy 20th Anniversary!
Yes, it's finally here--we've been around for 20 years, so much has happened, we've been through a lot, survived our first 20 years...it all began in November 1994 when our financial advisor heard about International Video Yearbooks in Nashville, TN; our former VP Nicole Young and I bought a franchise in it, began building our company...the rest is history.
Watch our first project on our home page to see how we got started and how far we've come. We're thinking of getting back into video yearbooks, let us know what you think.
We hope everyone had a great holiday, enjoyed the nice December weather--even better than last year, hardly any snow and the temps were just right! Be sure to send pix of the family enjoying the festivities, always great to see everyone having fun.
To celebrate this anniversary year, we have a special flyer attached thanking everyone for their service and support, which we'll be sending to past and present clients and staff, plus posting a special message on Facebook. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
The video production industry certainly has changed dramatically over time, we're very glad we could be a part of it, see how:

Now that 2014 is over, it's time to think ahead to the new video technology and trends...we like to stick to the basics, but are open to trying new things, specifically tapeless acquisition and recording, the new 4K and Blu-ray discs...we'll see what happens in the next 12 months. DVD and MiniDV aren't going anywhere soon, we've had success with both and plan to for years to come.
The Michigan Warriors are doing great, had some really good games last month--more close ones; the highlight of the year was the Flint Generals Alumni vs. the Genesee County All-Stars...great crowd, great game, great to see the classic players back in town. Copies of the DVD are now available, pass it on! Let's keep cheering the Warriors onto victory...and to a Robertson Cup Championship! The Generals Alumni is planning another game with the Detroit Red Wings Alumni, we're in talks for filming that game.
You may have read about a USHL team possibly coming to Flint, along with a new look for Perani Arena...we'll keep you posted with further updates. In the meantime, our schedule for this month:
1. Michigan Warriors vs. Janesville, Friday, January 9th, 7pm
2. Michigan Warriors vs. Janesville, Saturday, January 10th, 7pm

* Our official anniversary day!
I wish to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication these past 20 years, it is always much appreciated. Stay tuned for details and have a great start to the New Year, let's keep remembering to give thanks for the good things in our lives, be aware of those less fortunate than we, and above all, the reason for the holidays. Have a great New Year's Day have lots of fun--and, as always, let's be careful out there!

Well, Thanksgiving is upon us, it's time to start thinking about the holidays--yeah, all the hype is spreading with the Christmas movies (most of which are actually pretty good), Black Friday ads (which we're already sick of), decorations all over...makes some folks long for the good ol' days...
We've been busy this year, filming Michigan Warriors hockey--they're doing OK, should be heading for another run at the Robertson Cup, bring in more fans...the recent Flint Generals Alumni game did just that, over 2,000 showed up to see the boys in blue and gold battle the Genesee County All-Stars. What a game! Copies of the DVD will be available by next weekend, tell your family and friends, and be sure to support the Warriors...they're the next generation of Flint hockey!
We'll be even busier with the holidays coming up, more Warriors games and the midseason...we're hoping for more teams to film for, plus some special events, we'll keep you posted.
In the meantime, enjoy this Thanksgiving of 2014 and Happy Holidays!
Well, summer is finally here...it actually was in June, we've been so busy we haven't had time to notice all of the changes. Fall is in the air, there's been talk of an early one...no problem, as that means hockey season is around the corner! We're looking to get a contract with the Michigan Warriors, we'll keep you posted.
The Flint Monarchs won their first ever WABA title, going 7-0 this season...way to go Monarchs! Let's cheer them on and watch as they dominate next season!
Late summer wedding season is here, we have some lined up, stay tuned for video clips, we're working on a future demo video we'll post on YouTube.
We're working on a new addition to our business, a fully digital state-of-the-art music studio! We've been planning it for the last few months, are adding to it every so often and plan to have it up and running by next summer, check out the pix on our Photo Gallery page.
That's it for this month, stay tuned for fall news...and thanks for reading!
Well, it's a new season, winter is in full swing and we're in the midst of the winter blahs...more snow on the way (as if we haven't had enough), everyone's asking "Where's spring already?"
Was on a business trip for the last few weeks, took some personal time as well to get things straightened out after a long Christmas holiday season, so much went on....power outage, contending with freezing cold, counting the days until March 21st! In the meantime, I am not so glad to announce that we will not be filming the Flint City Derby Girls this season, have some other projects to finish, will still be cheering the team on as they battle to the championship!
Still planning to film for other local sports teams this summer, specifically the Flint Monarchs and U of M Flint Kodiaks, both should be in top form for their seasons. Wedding bells are ringing, we'll be filming some nuptials this season, details to follow. Spring is in the air, soon-to-be-wedded couples are planning to tie the knot....wonderful!
Stay tuned for more.....and keep warm!
Happy Holidays and Greetings!
Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season, enjoying the winter weather--except for the ice storm we had, many are recovering from the hundreds of outages around the state, which thankfully were fixed in time for the weekend. Many thanks to Consumers Energy for sending out-of-state workers to get our power back!
We're in the process of preparing for the upcoming new year, this being our 20th production season means new projects in the works, including:
- Flint City Derby Girls 2014 season
- Flint Monarchs WABA 2014 season
- Michigan Admirals 2014 season
We'll be in touch with them to see about filming their upcoming seasons. In the meantime, we are proud to welcome aboard three new staff members, Joe Lussier, who has worked with us in the past, Robin Rozario, who also has, and Billy Short, who has helped out with some projects. Look for them and other staff at future events.
Let's make 2014 our best year yet, we'll be planning even better things for our 20th year in business, have a great holiday and Happy New Year 2014 and stay tuned for more details.
It's a new month, fall is in the air and it's almost time for the little ones to go out for trick-or-treating...that's right, Halloween is almost here! This is one holiday that brings back fond memories, parties at school and/or at a friend's or relative's house, wearing the coolest costumes and enjoying a great time with friends.
The Flint City Derby Girls had a fantastic season, winning all but two of their bouts, they're busy prepping for the upcoming season, let's keep cheering them on. Other area sports teams are busy working their way to the playoffs, readying themselves to win more championships...the Tigers didn't make it to the Series, but fought a long, tough battle to get to the ACLS and Game 6 of the semis. Let's cheer them on as well for making it as far as they could.
We're in the process of planning for new projects, with the upcoming wedding season on the horizon, we'll most likely be attending and/or setting up at bridal shows--be sure to look for us and stop by with any questions or comments about event planning, we're always glad to help.
Have a safe and Happy Halloween, stay tuned for more and have fun!
